When the motor rotates forward, the traction wheel rotates clockwise, and the wire rope pulls the car upward; conversely, when the motor rotates reversely, the traction wheel rotates counterclockwise, driving the car downward.


3.Traction process
The core of the traction process lies in the friction between the traction wheel and the wire rope. The surface of the traction wheel is usually specially treated to increase the friction between the wire rope and ensure the stability of traction. When the load in the car changes, the traction machine adjusts the speed and torque of the motor to maintain a constant tension between the traction wheel and the wire rope, thereby achieving smooth operation of the elevator.


4.Braking and safety
In order to ensure the safety of the elevator when it stops, the traction machine is equipped with a variety of safety devices:
●Brake: Automatically clamp the traction wheel in the non-operating state to prevent the elevator from moving accidentally.
●Emergency braking system: In emergency situations, such as power failure, loss of control, etc., it can brake quickly to ensure the safety of passengers.
●Overload protection: When the elevator load exceeds the design limit, the brake will act immediately to avoid accidents.


5.Maintenance and care
The normal operation of the traction machine depends on regular maintenance and care. This includes:
●Cleaning: Regularly remove dust and dirt inside the traction machine to maintain good heat dissipation conditions.
●Lubrication: Lubricate related mechanical parts to reduce wear and extend service life.
●Inspection: Regularly check the working status of key components such as electrical control systems and brakes, and replace damaged parts in time.
●Testing: Perform performance tests on the elevator to ensure that all safety protection devices are working properly.
