How Can Elevator Modernization Benefit from an Integrated Control System?
With the rapid development of electronic technology, the elevator integrated control technology that highly integrates elevator logic control and variable frequency drive control has matured, and is favored by elevator manufacturers and elevator renovation customers for its excellent performance, economic efficiency, safety and reliability.

Nona Elevator Modernization Plan:
The project to be modernized is three elevators in the Chongqing State-owned Assets Management Committee Office Building (Yufu Building), with a load of 1150Kg and a speed of 2.5m/s. The original elevator was a variable frequency speed-adjustable passenger elevator of the Korean Dongyang brand installed in the late 1990s. The daily use of the elevator was affected by the unavailability of electrical system spare parts. By analyzing the actual situation on site and the relevant drawings and materials of the original elevator, combined with the actual situation on site, the following plan was finally determined:
The control cabinet uses the WISH8000 series elevator integrated control cabinet produced by MONARCH. Compared with the traditional microcomputer board plus inverter control system, its advantages are reflected in:
- The signal line of the control board and the inverter interface is eliminated, reducing the fault point. The information exchange between the control board and the inverter is no longer limited to a few lines, and a large amount of information can be exchanged in real time.
- True distance control, no limit on the number of curves, the integrated structure can automatically generate N curves through the chip. Coupled with the effect of direct docking, the efficiency of elevator operation is improved to the extreme. Each operation saves 2 to 3 seconds of crawling time, making the ride more comfortable and reducing the anxiety caused by waiting.
- Based on the chip-level exchange of a large amount of information, integration can more accurately judge the condition of the elevator and make adjustments quickly. And the judgment of elevator failure is more accurate and the handling is more flexible.
- Control circuit
Due to the use of integrated control cabinet, the original electrical circuit is greatly simplified. The connection between the control cabinet and the car actually only requires a 28-core accompanying cable.
Implementation
- Drive main circuit
Among them: JAQ-safety contactor JYX-running contactor PG-encoder
NICE3000 drive main circuit. The power provided by the user enters the NICE3000 controller through the wiring terminals and safety contactors of the control cabinet, and the output power is connected to the traction machine motor through the running contactor.
- NICE3000 input and output interface circuit
NICE3000 input and output interface circuit uses the I/O port of the control drive integrated controller, which is extremely simple.
- Motor parameter self-learning
In order to better control the motor, the motor parameters need to be self-learned before the elevator maintenance operation. The WISH8000 elevator integrated control cabinet provides two modes of motor static self-learning and rotation self-learning. During this transformation, the rotation self-learning mode was selected because the magnetic poles of the permanent magnet synchronous motor need to be learned.
- Integrated controller parameter setting and debugging
According to the actual wiring situation on site, the interface parameters need to be set according to the relevant contents of the WISH8000 user manual.
Secondly, the main parameters of the on-site elevator are load 1150Kg, rated speed 2.5m/s, 28 floors and 28 stations. Set the basic parameters of the WISH8000 integrated control cabinet, elevator rated speed (F0-04) and elevator highest floor (F6-00) as above.
After completing routine safety inspections and on-site parameter settings, implement self-learning of well parameters when the inspection and trial operation are normal. Finally, conduct a trial operation of the express train and readjust the operating parameters.
Before officially operating the express train, the well information self-learning can be repeated several times to ensure the accuracy of the floor data memorized by the control system.
The modernized elevator has greatly improved the operating quality, comfort and parking efficiency compared with the original elevator; the use of integrated controllers for control and variable frequency drive also saves electricity for the entire system; the improvement of the car decoration makes the elevator and the entire building complement each other. Practice has proved that the application of integrated elevator controllers in the modernization of elevator systems is the best choice for users in terms of reliability, comfort and economy.
